I usually go for deferred adjudiction probation, where you are put on probation for 3 to 4 monthes. If you don't get a ticket within that time, it is automatically dismissed, no futher court dates or anything. The really sweet thing about it is that different cities do not share a central database, so you can be on deferred in one city, get a ticket in another city and get deferred in that city also. I live on the county line betweenharris and galveston county. There are several small cities really close together. My parents, for instance live 15 miles from me and I travel through League City, Kemah, Seabrook, Pasedena, and Houston just to get there. I always reserve the defensive driving as a last resort, because you can only use that 'free ticket' once a year. In my case this time, none of the above are going to work.
